The metal Masculine and Feminine sculpture depicts two figures, Ali and Nino, who are characters from a famous novel of the same name by Azerbaijani author Kurban Said. The figures are made of metal and stand about 8 meters tall. Ali is a Muslim boy and Nino is a Christian girl, and their story is set against the backdrop of the First World War and the Russian Revolution. Ali belongs to an aristocratic family. He fell in love with Nino Cipriani, who is also from a famous family. Although they had different religious beliefs, they overcame all the difficulties and married. However, they were separated by the invasion of Soviet Russia in Azerbaijan. When Ali had to choose between his family and country, Ali chose to die bravely for his country.
