Squirrels are “spirit guides” in Slavic legends and symbolize blessings in East Asian culture, but here they are given a posthumanist interpretation.

When the audience walks through it, they will notice that some squirrels have micro screens embedded in their “mechanical organs”, which play pixelated forest images or genetic sequence codes in a loop, implying the tampering of natural memory in the digital age. Reflective metal plates may be laid on the ground, interweaving the audience’s reflection with the Squirrel Cyborg sculpture, forcing people to think: Are they also participants in this biomechanical evolution?
